HELLOOOOO FROM UGANDA!!!! What a day!!! We started off the morning in the wonderful village of Kalifornia where we met lots of awesome people! By the end of our time evangelizing, we had acquired a lovely following of children who live in the village, and what was even better was that they had begun praying over people with us as we went along. Praise the Lord for the three beautiful lives that were given to Christ and for the Lord speaking so kindly through us as we got to pray over so many families. Major God shoutout, and probably the coolest part of the morning was getting to hear the testimony of a young man named Jeremiah and how, even through unimaginable hardship, the Lord has remained faithful in his life! Bonus shoutout to witnessing a goat giving birth for the first time in our lives!! Quite a scene to say the least!
After we wrapped up our time in the village, we ate a quick lunch together at the school before heading over to the Master Cares farm. This was such a cool experience, and it was even cooler to have Walker lead the devotional for the group! We got to learn all about the values of the farm and the emphasis placed on discipleship while also enjoying a tour where we got to see more goats, a pig, and lots of crops! Next up, we spent time at the sewing school listening to Irene tell us all about how this place provides young girls (and sometimes boys) with an opportunity to make an income if they are not able to be in school. Getting to see all of the machinery and the beautiful pieces of clothing that they’ve made left me in awe!!!
Our last stop for the day was back at the school, which is always a fun time. We spent the early evening just enjoying time with our friends. Carly and I taught our two new friends how to play some really fun games, such as ninja, and it was a blast. Another crowd favorite was swinging on the swings over and over again. The joy of the Lord is so evident in this place, and it’s such a beautiful reminder of the wonderful God who loves us so much! The night ended with an incredible dinner cooked by Chef Enoch. Huge shoutout (especially the chips and guac). This was the best meal of the trip by far, and it was even sweeter to enjoy it with the community. My joyful friend Carly and I had no problem clearing our plates, and Carly shared her love for passion fruit with the table. There truly is nothing better than having the privilege of being able to share a meal together. The Lord is so good and has been so faithful throughout our time here. Today definitely overflowed my cup, and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for the rest of the trip!!!!
