This is the day the Lord has made, the last day of our trip. After all of the great ways that God moved this week through this team, we enjoyed yet another day of fun and rest as we traveled back to Entebbe to prepare for our journey home tomorrow.
This morning, we gathered all our things and loaded up for our bus ride. We said our goodbyes to Solomon and Ephram from The Master Cares, and it was time to head out. Our first stop would be at the equator. There, we had pizza or lunch at the Wavah restaurant.
After lunch, we returned to the shops at the equator, which we had previously visited. We reunited with some friends we made on Saturday and picked up a few souvenirs. We were only halfway to our stop for tonight, so back in the bus we went and started the second part of our drive.
Finally, we made it to the hotel where we will be staying for the night and got settled in. We enjoyed our final meal together in Uganda at Cafe Java, where we also had breakfast on Saturday. Back to our hotel rooms, we went to hopefully get a little bit of sleep before our early departure tomorrow.
Today marks the end of our trip; however, God will continue to move through the lives changed this week, long after we are gone. The lives given to Christ, the friendships made, and the students sponsored are all part of a God-sized impact that couldn’t have been made hadn’t each member of this team stepped out in faith. I knew God was on the move from the start of this week, and now I have the privilege of looking back at the beauty of His work. What was made clear to me this week is that our mission did not start when we first set foot into Master Cares Christian School, and it did not end at our celebration dinner last night. Our mission is ongoing and is a part of our lives and our commission as servants of the king. Before I even set foot on Ugandan soil, God presented me with the opportunity to pray for the two gentlemen I sat next to on the plane. And this morning, without any service projects or evangelism on our agenda, I witnessed our head of school leading a hotel custodian to Christ. What a God we serve. He moves in ways we will never understand or foresee.
I am beyond grateful to have been a part of this team. God had His hand in the hearts of many this week, including my own. Words simply cannot fully capture the ways God has displayed His power. By grace through faith, lives were changed.
