Tonight, an incredible team of students from Prestonwood Christian Academy North embarked on a journey that will take them halfway around the world to Uganda.
This team of ten represents the heart behind what PCA calls MiniMester. It is a week where students from PCA North and Plano step outside the classroom and into the world to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serve others in meaningful ways.
There was a noticeable sense of anticipation in the airport this evening. Students moved through security, shared a final American meal together, and gathered at the gate before boarding our flight. Beneath the excitement was a deeper awareness that none of them are making this journey alone. Each student represents a circle of people who prayed, encouraged, and generously supported them to make this trip possible.
This year’s trip also carries a meaningful personal milestone. Carter and I both have the privilege of traveling with our oldest children as we serve together in a country and among a people who have deeply captured our hearts.
Over the coming days, the team will serve through sports camps at Master Cares Christian School, lead discipleship groups with students in our vocational program and farm and ranch initiatives, dedicate a water well that they helped raise funds to drill, and spend time encouraging and loving the children in the surrounding communities.
Throughout the week, you will receive updates written by the students themselves. Our hope is that these stories will allow you to see firsthand how your prayers, generosity, and encouragement are advancing the Gospel in Uganda.
