Before coming to Uganda, I carried quiet doubts in my heart. I kept wondering how much difference we could really make in just one week. In the grand scheme of things, seven days felt so small. I questioned whether our presence truly mattered or if we would simply come and go without leaving any lasting impact. It did not take long for those doubts to unravel.
Standing in the middle of the outreach events, I began to see how essential every person was. At the malnutrition outreach especially, the need was overwhelming. Families arrived one after another, mothers holding children who were weak and fragile. The work required so many hands. Supplies had to be received and organized. Children needed to be tested and diagnosed. The Gospel needed to be shared. Treatment needed to be given. Every role mattered, and there were moments when it felt like even one missing person would have made the work impossible.
As I watched it all unfold, something shifted in me. Our presence was not extra. It was vital. God had already prepared the work, and we were simply stepping into what was needed in that moment. One week suddenly felt full, purposeful, and holy.
Tonight, as I reflect, I am humbled by how wrong my doubts were. I see now that obedience, even for a short time, can carry eternal weight. And I am deeply grateful that we were there when we were needed most.
