My daughter was scheduled to come to Uganda next week but had to cancel because she would be traveling alone and is a little concerned about getting home. It is difficult for someone to come to Uganda right now because of the media about Ebola. When you return to the United States you must enter through Dulles International, Atlanta, or Houston which means the airline has to reroute you and charge accordingly. We have been in Uganda for almost a month having traveled to Nakasongola, Kampala, and Kyotera, and the only time we have heard the word Ebola was at the hotel and they were saying business was bad because of all the bad press about Ebola in Uganda. It was another half day with Ephraim in the office. Ephraim will spend much time getting our C.V. ready for a couple of very important presentations. Please pray that these tentative appointments make.
Carol and I are teaching Phiona how to play gin rummy, and we are doing Tai Chi chair exercises and Yoga and now Phiona and Enoch have joined us.

My quiet time in the morning becomes more special to me with every passing day. It is really easy to become convicted when you spend more time in the Bible. God has so much planned for us if we just had the faith of a mustard seed. The world is such a distraction, not only with the bad things but often with very good things. Being anxious might be one of the biggest tools of the devil, keeping us from enjoying what God has for us. I think maybe because we know worry is a sin, we often don’t realize how easy it is to be anxious. The scriptures are full of promises that God will take care of us, and worry sort of says, “I don’t think so, or at least I am not sure that is true for my sins.” We also fall into believing bad things happen to us because we did something wrong, and sometimes that is the reason, but Jesus warned all of us, “In this life you WILL have tribulation.” In my reading of the Old Testament, I read: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19. I must profess with the father in Mark 9:24…I believe; help my unbelief.”

After the church service they celebrated and awarded students that had graduated with honors, The Carol Loper Foundation Scholarship. At the three grade levels that require national exams the top four students receive credit for money for college if they graduate at Master Cares. The fourth highest grade receives 500,000UGX, third 1,000,000UGX, second 1,500,000UGX, and the top score receives 2,000,000UGX. The top student this year from S6 was also the top student in S4 so he received a check for 4,000,000UGX on top of receiving a government scholarship, that’s a lot of miscellaneous money.
Dr. Chris Miller went with a small group led by Solomon and Moses to visit patients who had surgery on his last trip.
