Carrying the Torch of Proverbs 22:6: How the Launch of Master Cares Christian High School Old Students Association (MACCHOSA) Reunited Generations at Master Cares

When Brother Charles and Mama Carol Loper first laid the groundwork for Master Cares Ministries in Uganda, they anchored everything on a single, powerful scripture. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6).
Yesterday, walking through the Master Cares Convention Centre, you could see the living, breathing proof of that promise.
A total of 65 alumni made the journey back home for the official launching and opening of the Master Cares Christian High School Old Students Association (MACCHOSA). It wasn’t just a regular reunion; it felt like a family homecoming where the lessons of our past met our shared responsibilities for the future.
We were deeply encouraged to have the full backing of the ministry’s leadership. Having our Country Director, Mr. Ssemambo Ephrahim, alongside the Chief Operating Officer of Master Cares Ministries, Mr. Kavuma Solomon, spend the day with us showed just how much the ministry values its old students.
Grounded in God’s Word
We refused to start anywhere else but in the presence of the Almighty. Our opening service was led by Lead Pastor Pr. Kagoda Daniel, who gave a message that really challenged us. He reminded everyone in the room that MACCHOSA shouldn’t just exist as a social network. Instead, it must be a fellowship driven by a Kingdom purpose. He charged us to carry the integrity, faith, and hard work we learned at school out into our communities and workplaces.
Setting the Vision and Electing Leaders
Right after the service, we kicked off the official Opening Ceremony. We spent time discussing the real identity and direction of MACCHOSA—our core mission, our constitution, and how we can practically give back to Master Cares Christian High School.
A major highlight of the day was officially appointing the Headteacher of the High School, Mr. Mbayo Mike, as our First Patron. Having Mr. Mbayo guiding us ensures that the association stays perfectly aligned with the needs and heart of the school.
Then came the time to vote. The elections were fully democratic, highly spirited, and incredibly transparent. I am deeply humbled that my fellow alumni chose me to lead this incredible team.

Balancing my legal studies at Kampala International University with the presidency will take hard work, but alongside this dedicated team, I promise we will serve this association with the same servant-hearted leadership that the Loper family modeled for us.
Lunch and Mentoring the Next Generation
After the intense politics, we sat down to a wonderful lunch together. One of the best moments of the entire afternoon was sitting down with the current high school students. Talking with them felt like looking into a mirror of our own past. We spent time encouraging them, sharing tips on how to navigate university life, and reminding them that the training they are receiving right now is meant to set them apart as leaders.
Drama on the Football Pitch: Teachers vs. Alumni vs. Students
You can’t have an alumni day without sports, and the afternoon gave us two incredible football matches. The high school staff showed up in full force, and it turns out they are just as tough on the grass as they are in the classroom!
- Match 1: Alumni vs. Teachers (1 – 2)
- Match 2: Alumni vs. Master Cares Students (2 – 1)
We thought youth was on our side, but the teachers gave us a proper footballing lesson. Despite a hard-fought battle from the Alumni, the staff used their experience to secure a tight 2-1 win over us. We are definitely demanding a rematch soon!Needing to save face after the teacher match, we took on the current students. The boys brought incredible speed and energy, but MACCHOSA maturity helped us carry the day. We walked off with a 2-1 victory, showing the younger generation that the elders still have the skills.
Moving Forward Together
As the day wound down, you could feel a deep sense of unity. MACCHOSA is now fully active, registered, and ready to make a difference.
We owe a massive thank you to Charles and Carol Loper, Country Director Mr. Ssemambo Ephrahim, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Kavuma Solomon, our Patron Mr. Mbayo Mike and his dedicated staff, Pr. Kagoda Daniel, and every single alumnus who showed up. The training we received at Master Cares didn’t end on graduation day—it continues through this new chapter.
To all MACCHOSA alumni, whether you are within Uganda or overseas: the doors are officially open. Let us join hands, build each other up, and make our school proud.
